Jing'an Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Jing'an District of Shanghai. It was built in 247 A.D. , and was relocated to its current place in 1216 during the Song Dynasty of Chinese history. Its most recent renovation was in late 2008.
Jing'an Temple is the oldest Buddist temple in Shanghai.
Jing'an Temple is a great place in the city to experience the fusion of ancient and contemporary China. And two major shopping malls neighbor the temple to become the famous commercial hub of Shanghai. It is a temple to separate peace & tranquility from modern city vibration.
A three-day fair will be held at Jing'an Temple every year around April 8th of Chinese Lunar Year (About May of Solar Year). The fair is widely celebrated and many Buddist pilgrims and their ceremonies make the temple a great place to visit during the period.

Jing'an Temple is easily accessed by Metro Line No. 2. And several bus lines stop by too.
